The very first K10D demo products could deliver 50-3200 ISO sensitivity. But the serial production has only 100-1600. I found that the noise performance is pretty good. Up to ISO 800 the photos can be directly used. In ISO 1600 noise reduction (NR) is needed. NR can be implemented from C Custom Functions options, or Pentax Photo Laboratory when shot RAW. With this software, ISO 1600 became usable. In photos, which are shot in ISO 1600, noise particles are colorless - this shows that K10D reduces noise without losing details. This becomes an advantage when photos are used professionally.
In continuous shooting mode, it can capture 3 fps RAW. This is the same speed for JPEG. In JPEG mode, you can take unlimited photos until your memory card is full (when used with a fast memory card)
Equipped with 800 MHz DDR memory, it delivers continuous JPEG recording to SD and SD-HC cards.

The camera uses APC-C size (23.5 x 15.7 mm) CCD. 10.75 total and 10.2 effective pixels deliver 3872 x 2592 pixel counts.
